If you need to use another form of payment, you must return to a transport and motoring customer service centre on a weekday during opening hours to get your licence. If you pass a driving test on a Saturday, you can pay with EFTPOS and get your licence on the day. You must make your booking at least one week before your test date. If you are over 25 you don’t need to complete a learner logbook before booking your test. If you’ve passed the test in DKT online, you do not need to make a booking to go to a service centre and apply for your licence. Due to the high interest in the Work and Holiday visa program in some high demand countries, the department has paused application lodgement. This may happen when the cap is nearly filled or to spread out visa application lodgements throughout the program year. You will receive feedback from examiners which will help you determine your readiness for the actual test. You will need to pay the test fee when you select your test date.
Cancel your test booking
You can pay with cash, cheque, money order, debit or credit cards at a transport and motoring customer service centre. You must read and comply with the health and safety requirements for your driving test. If you hold a car learner licence, you must pass the car hazard perception test before you can book your practical driving test. If you are under 25, you are eligible to book a practical driving test once your learner logbook has been approved. First Work and Holiday visa application cap status

Working Holiday pre-application process (ballot)
If these conditions don’t apply to you, you can take the DKT online. You can make a booking to take the Driver Knowledge Test (DKT) in-person at a Service NSW Centre. Take the online test as many times as you need for the one test fee. Most of our tests are delivered online only to allow for equitable access for test candidates.
To apply, you need to wait until the cap opens on 1 July next program year. This is because all places for the program year have been filled already. We will reopen a ‘paused’ cap later in the same program year to allow new applications. There are no caps for second or third Work and Holiday visas.
